Rex Ledesma

Hi, I'm Rex. I'm a technologist, engineer, and writer.

I'm currently an engineer at Poolside, building data platform infrastructure for foundation model pre-training. Before, I was a programming resident at the Recurse Center, and was an engineer at Dagster Labs.

I write Referents, a personal newsletter in the space of technology and immigration law. My work advocating for high-skilled immigration reform has been recognized by FWD.us and the former presidential administration.

Previously, I worked at Airbnb, Asana, and Facebook. Prior to that, I graduated from the University of Maryland summa cum laude with honors as a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar. I was a teaching assistant for classes in machine learning and algorithms and was director of Bitcamp (2017, 2018).

My other interests include reading, running, and cycling. I run for Central Park Track Club and I'm a member of the Park Slope Food Coop.
